Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?
A: We are Era Software, the observability data management company. We were founded in 2019 by Todd Persen and Robert Winslow.
Todd was the co-founder and CTO of InfluxData (YC W13), which has raised over $120M. He most recently served as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer at Pivotal overseeing the Data Observability effort for Cloud Foundry, and was the co-creator, with Robert, of the Time Series Benchmarking Suite, the industry-standard tool for comparing time series databases.
Robert most recently worked as an AI Consultant and a teacher of Bayesian statistics. He’s a recurring track host at Data Council, and co-maintainer of Google’s FlatBuffers low-latency storage framework in Rust.
EraSearch is our observability and analytics platform, built on top of EraDB, our high-performance, cost-optimized, object storage-based database architecture. EraSearch can be self-hosted or sold as a SaaS offering, our EraCloud. EraSearch ingests, stores, and analyzes high log data volumes, often at a fraction of the cost offered by other solutions.
Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?
A: Era Software recent milestones:

Recommended: Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?
A: Many large organizations generate 100-200 TB of log data per day. Even with 10x more data, with EraSearch, you can perform troubleshooting or security-related searches and find a needle in the haystack. If there’s a denial of service attack or outage, you will see spikes and can view it as a steady-state workload in the cluster and it handles capacity.
Today’s tools don’t deliver broader searches and organizations need to be able to ingest PBs quickly and should be able to keep the data for an extended period of time in their log management system. This is beneficial for the business and is both a security and performance use case.
For security use cases, this is huge. Threat detection is hard – you need to know where all the threats are and determine if a signature occurred, how many times it occurred, and when it occurred. And beyond security in ITOps or DevOps use cases, our log management product lets you scan across the entire data set, feed data in real time, and sustain the load.
