Q: Kate, what is Plexo Capital?

A: Plexo Capital is an institutional investor allocating capital into venture capital funds led by diverse general partners creating the next generation of leading franchises + private companies led by entrepreneurs building the future. Our mission is simple: generate superior returns by investing into the full stack of financing opportunities in the startup ecosystem.

Plexo Capital prides itself on a distinctive model that values the unique perspectives of diverse investors to drive alpha and, as a byproduct, increase diversity in our ecosystem.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Plexo Capital, led by Founding Managing Partner Lo Toney, launched the new GPx program for emerging fund managers. GPx is an open-source educational community supporting great investors to become great fund managers through video content modules taught by world class leaders from the venture capital ecosystem. The GPx program is free of charge and helps emerging managers solve the problem of understanding all the nuances of fund management.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: GPx has three pillars that educate and empower emerging fund managers: 1/ Forming a Fund, 2/ Raising a Fund and 3/ Managing a Fund. The modules are taught by industry leaders like Lindel Eakman, Partner at the Foundry Group, Erin Harkless Moore, Investments Director at Pivotal Ventures, Charles Hudson, Managing Partner at Precursor Ventures, Elizabeth ‘Beezer’ Clarkson, Managing Partner at Sapphire Partners, and many more.

The video content is open to all and there is also a curated cohort-based learning of emerging fund managers where there is community and connection. The GPx participants also have the ability to pitch to Limited Partners within the Plexo Capital GPx network to allow for increased funding.

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: We expect to increase our product offerings and community for the GPx program. We want to support and educate as many emerging managers in the venture capital ecosystem allowing for a more equitable future.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: We do not just talk the talk, we walk the walk. We invest in women and people of color, but our team is also comprised of women and people of color. Our team is passionate about equality and empowerment for all within the tech ecosystem and the programs and investments we put into place mirror those passions.
