Q: You’ve recently announced the addition of five executive hires to your leadership team; tell us something more?

A: The new positions, spread across a number of core business functions, are part of a larger reorganization of the company to accommodate its rapid growth. Founded in 2002, Printfly ended 2017 with a team of over 250 full-time employees growing its headcount over 67 percent in just the last 18 months. Today, 70% of our workforce are millennials. The depth of experience of our recent hires speaks to the talent and scale taking place at Printfly.

Q: What makes Printfly a tech company?

A: We pioneered many of the technologies that are now standard for our industry and because there were no off-the-shelf solutions, we built them from the ground up. We continue to invest in our infrastructure enabling us to increase our business efficiencies in the flawless manner that our customers expect. We are having many conversations around machine learning, computer vision, voice UI and mixed reality that will allow us to make the custom apparel process even faster and easier.

Q: What are your plans for the next four months?

A: We will be taking a critical look at every aspect of our business to be sure we are creating amazing customer experiences. Understanding our varied audiences in detail will allow us to deliver on their unique needs, in turn building upon our industry leading customer loyalty. This focus on customer advocacy will expand the value of our business and brands.

On the talent side, we’ll continue to add top talent from inside and outside of the Philadelphia area. Over the last several years, our city has put itself on the map for technology and we want to take advantage of that while sourcing talent from other cities as well.

Q: Could you tell us something more about your brands RushOrderTees and College.Ink?

A: RushOrderTees.com found a place in the market by completing orders that other custom printing companies refused because of tight deadlines and missed delivery by other printers. Since RushOrderTees.com was first created the brand has grown immensely and is now capable of printing tens of thousands of shirts on short notice. It’s that ability that has landed partnerships with the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA and the Philadelphia Union of the MLS. College.Ink focuses on the unique needs of college students. We know that this demographic of university organizations including clubs, sororities, fraternities and intramural teams identifies with different styles and designs so we wanted a brand that would take this into account and build an experience focused on them.
