Scent Trunk has won the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) Toronto Regional Contest and will now move on to the Canadian National competition being held on February 4 in Toronto.

Yin’s Scent Trunk enterprise beat out 8 other student-run companies to win the Ontario GSEA contest.

GSEA is a global initiative of the Entrepreneurs’ Network that assists budding businesspeople through mentorship, networking and cash incentives. GSEA is active in 25 countries but is coming to Canada for the first time in 2015.

Will and his team launched Scent Trunk on July 1 of 2014, and the company has seen consistent growth since then. They spent the fall of last year gaining traction and tweaking their technology. The fledgling company is now raising capital to accelerate growth and bring their products to a broad market.

“We are now filling orders across Canada and the U.S., and sales are growing every week”, says Yin. “We are even in Nunavut! Just sold our first order up there”, he chuckles. “Winning GSEA means so much to us, as it is affirmation that we have a good idea. It helps our game and motivates us to pursue our dreams”.
