Below is our recent interview with Roberto Baldizón, CEO/CTO at Silibrain LLC:

Q: Roberto, can you tell us something more about the company and what you do?

A: Yes, most definitely, I founded Silibrain as a Software Developer agency last year, since then I have been the CEO & CTO for such company. Silibrain has expertise in developing custom made web, mobile, and desktop apps, as well as more complex software solutions involving IoT, Blockchain, and AI for clients. Extensive Technical experience has allowed us to build software products which we will be made available to the public on a subscription basis in 2020.

Q: You will be competing in the Medica app competition this year as one of the finalists; could you tell us something more?

A: Incognimed, one of the products we will be launching next year which is a patient managed medical record hosting service will be competing in Medica’s App Competition sponsored by Bayer. Medica is the largest Healthcare Conference in the world and it takes place yearly in Germany. This app was selected as one of the 15 finalists from a global pool of solutions which founders will also be pitching their ideas to industry and field experts, thus gaining their feedback and improving their products, even if they are not selected as one of the winners.

Q: What exactly is Incognimed and how does it work?

A: Incognimed is a medical record hosting service managed by patients that have been developed followed patterns and standard procedures used in hospitals by physicians to diagnose and treat patients. Giving patients the power to manage their medical data will allow for greater freedom of practitioner and personalized treatment, even when far from home, as practitioners will know the entire history of the patient, not just the known symptoms presented by them. Patients that allow their information to be shared among educational institutions and med-school students, following desired privacy settings, will also contribute greatly to the betterment of the medical field by allowing them to gain real-world exposure to multiple cases while still working on their certifications.

Q: How did you get the idea for Incognimed?

A: This app has been developed as an iterative process from an original idea that came to me while working on a project at UC Berkeley’s coding Bootcamp of building an open-source medical record storage service with some friends. An optimized version of this initial idea will be maintained and released as a free basic version of all that Incognimed is truly capable of doing under the name MD-Anonymous. This solution will allow practitioners around the world who don’t have the budget to acquire an online medical record hosting service, to store them there.

Q: What’s wrong with the current way medical records are hosted?

A: Allowing patients to manage their medical data is a disruptive and bold idea that will not be easy, but which we believe can benefit millions. Patients that suffer from chronic conditions do not have the same freedom of movement as they have to worry about staying close to a practitioner or someone that would know about their specific circumstances in case of emergency. Patients with rare diseases are usually not diagnosed correctly since it is tough for physicians to transparently collaborate on difficult cases to reach the best conclusions. All such cases could be utilized by researchers and med-school students to learn and find better ways of treating patients, so more people can be diagnosed promptly and correctly.

Q: What are some of the main objectives for Silibrain going into 2020 and how do you plan to achieve them?

A: Silibrian will continue selling its developer services to clients, as well as partner software offices which we will have available as complementary solutions to our product offerings. On top of that, we plan on expanding with the help of partners, and startup programs, such as the MongoDB Startup community and the GAN communities, where we have already been accepted. With the help of existing and upcoming partners, we believe we will be able to scale and grow as we promote our software products in the market as innovative solutions made available to a larger market on a subscription basis.
