Konstantin Klyagin

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to Redwerk?

A: Redwerk is a full-cycle software product development agency. Since 2005 we offer companies worldwide design, development and testing services. Having started with a team of 3, now our team size is almost 60.

In a nutshell, we describe our area of expertise as “Software as a Service as a service”. We have practical experience in a majority of up-to-date software solutions which are SaaS or PaaS. A typical SaaS solution consists of a backend with database and business logic, a web frontend (normally responsive), mobile apps and sometimes also of an API for 3rd party developers.

I am the Founder and the CEO of the company and a major part of my life is affiliated to computer science. Before establishing Redwerk, I used to work in IT divisions of different companies around the world.

Q: Could you give us insights into your services?

A: At the very beginning, Redwerk was focused on e-government vector, but as business crusade went on, we extended our expertise for other industries, like eCommerce, business management solutions, eHealth, media & entertainment, innovative digital solutions, and even game dev.

Today, we have hundreds of successful projects under the belt for each of the noted industries. Redwerk has been providing its clients with a whole nine yards of software solutions regarding mobile, desktop, web app development, and on-demand audit of any difficulty. Besides the dedicated in-house developers and designers team, we also have segregated QA squad. So for the time being, we are a full-fledged outsourcing software development company.

We combine both critical properties that are necessary for the development of high-quality digital product: the presence of solid technical skill sets around the development team, fine taste within designers squad and healthy perfectionism among QA engineers. We are ace in applications development for all-types platforms. Our seasoned STEM talents pool write clear code and manage the backend environment in a topflight manner. Simultaneously, frontend mavens create positive UI/UX design.

Q: I’ve noticed that your portfolio includes not only commercial sector projects but governmental too. Is that normal practice for your company to develop such kind of blueprints, or it was more likely excluding from the rule?

A: Well, as I’ve mentioned, Redwerk takes its riverhead from the e-government projects. To be honest, most part of our company’s lifetime is conjugated with the commercial sector cooperation. So, I can say that for the time being, we are involved in e-government dimension pretty much and very proud of our expertise.

One of the most recent projects was our cooperation with EUREL consulting. Redwerk was tasked to upgrade a part of the EUREL EUGI platform used for voting in the European Parliament.

Q: Would you mind to describe how did you run the case of Justin Alexander? I mean, it concerns to quite Ladies theme that require all these romantic blink-blink stuff attitude, and most developers (no offense) are analytical-type people. What was the approach?

A: Nice to hear that you have reviewed our case studies. At Redwerk, we aimed at creating outstanding soft production, and fine-designed web pages. To reach a proper result, it is not enough to have a talented crew onboard of the company. Communication with an acquirer party is crucial.

Our approach envisages detailed mining of the information needed to clearly, unambiguously understand what our client is expecting at the output. We ask relevant questions at the beginning stage of the project and put the answers in paper files, which sequently processed and became a requirements documentation. With Justin Alexander, we discussed all the issues and our project manager transformed it into the clear tasks for our developers. Plus, we work in a proactive manner, so our creative team offered a couple of design solutions that were successfully released.

Q: Can you provide some real-world use-cases of computer vision? What’s Redwerk’s experience with it?

A: Being a technology that creates AI systems of pattern recognition, images/video scanning, acquiring and analyzing, computer vision provides crackerjack solutions that help people in many day-to-day issues, and improve life quality in general. Speaking of world use-cases, I’m really fond of car radars that can recognize human silhouette and prevent an accident by automatic break of the vehicle. You know, this example of practical releasing of modern technologies opportunities and capabilities describes that the IT industry is a big deal. I mean, this radars can save people’s lives. If to speak about routine type matters, computer vision also a great assistant here.

At Redwerk we have been developing applications that allow to identify objects contours, put visual effects on imagination and video. Some of these features are used just for fun and entertainment purposes. Like those funny filters, that people love to play with. But objects recognition technology, that we’ve mastered, can be used for simplification of the searching process. For instance, you can easily detect some object with a camera, like a guitar, some tree, or building, or whatsoever, and find relevant information on the internet in eye-wink time. Maybe you are interested in purchasing certain goods, and you can find where to buy it simply by identifying them with computer vision technology. I believe there are unlimited options where CV can be applied and make life and business issues much simpler.
