Below is our recent interview with Kayla Kirkeby, Vice President of Growth at Ombud:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: I’d be happy to! Ombud is a software platform focused on helping our customers transform their sales content (a critical company asset) into expertise, so they respond to customer inquiries, collaborate dynamically, and win more business.

Each step of the sales process involves telling your company story, articulating value, and showcasing that you understand what your customer or prospect is solving for. We help our clients achieve that by offering a centralized place to find and store content, collaborate with all the experts on their team, and do so confidently each time.

Our software platform is commonly used to streamline the creation of sales content like RFP responses, proposals, security questionnaires, statements of work, proofs of concept, and much more. We’ve helped a variety of industry innovators like Kronos, Zendesk, Ping Identity, Instructure, LogMeIn, Adobe, and Cloudera power their teams with exceptional content.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Most recently, our team was recognized by G2 as a High Performer in the Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Proposal Software categories in the Summer 2021 Report. G2 is a trusted industry source and their quarterly Grid® Reports rank products based on customer satisfaction and market presence – the High Performer designation is only granted to those with exceptional customer satisfaction.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: Our solution is a combination of content management, project collaboration, and machine learning. In terms of content management, Ombud is a central repository for large volumes of content and company information that is consistently relied upon during the sales process. We store and organize this content in a way that makes it easily searchable while also helping identify the very best content, response, or piece of information for the specific scenario.

The project collaboration capabilities within our software allow professionals within an organization to contribute to content creation or a specific deliverable easily while managing specific tasks, deadlines, and communication surrounding a project – something that is key to distributed organizations who operate on a global level.

Finally, machine learning helps automate some of the most repetitive aspects of creating sales content while intelligently surfacing your best content each time. We like to note that this helps our customers be more efficient (do more faster) and more effective (increase quality).

Q: What can we expect from your company in next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: Ombud is growing and one of our biggest areas of emphasis is hiring. We’re doing that across our teams including engineering, customer success, sales, marketing, and people operations. Our people are our greatest asset and it’s incredibly exciting to know we’re adding more excellent talent to our organization.

We’re also seeing a lot of market momentum now as well – both in terms of demand for our solution within new verticals as well as opportunities for new use cases. Many companies have invested heavily in sales technology in recent years and they now find themselves assessing how to best enable their teams – not only with technology, but with the right processes, training, coaching, and learning management systems to accompany such tools.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: The best thing about Ombud, hands down, is our people. That’s not a secret, though, and it’s evidenced in the recent G2 recognition and customer feedback we consistently receive. They are committed to our customers, each other, and themselves. They’re also committed to learning and growing along the way and that makes working with our team really fun each day.
