Below is our recent interview with Martin Nahrgang from Usercentrics:

Q: Could you provide our readers with a brief introduction to your company?

A: Usercentrics is a consent management platform (CMP) provider and was founded in Munich, Germany in 2018. Usercentrics’ SaaS solution enables companies to collect, manage and document user consent on digital channels, such as websites or apps, while maintaining high consent rates for data processing. Danish consent management platform Cookiebot has been protecting privacy by offering plug-and-play, automatic cookie control and compliance for websites since 2012. In the combined business, both products will continue and the company will operate under the name Usercentrics as a European Market leader for Consent Management.

Q: Any highlights on your recent announcement?

A: Bringing together Usercentrics’ enterprise expertise with the unrivaled scanning technology and SMB reach of Cookiebot CMP, the new Usercentrics entity will become the European market leader and operate as the world’s leading plug-and-play Consent Management Platform provider. Thanks to our expertise in the areas of regulatory affairs, marketing technology and software development, we collect around 61 Million user consents worldwide every day. Being established as the leading European provider in the field of Consent Management, our expansion in the Americas will enable us to operate on an equal footing with other providers in the North American Market.

Q: Can you give us more insights into your offering?

A: Usercentrics provides companies with consent management SaaS solutions to enhance their websites and apps to achieve privacy compliance. This way they can obtain user consent for the use of cookies and other web technologies. Also, the platform enables customers to access a wide range of analytics to find out about user interactions and enable optimization of their implementation to boost acceptance rates.

Part of our USP is the great possibilities for integration. Today we can offer our customers more than 2,000 tech and channel partners: Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Hubspot, Wix.com, WordPress and Shopify are only a few of them. Our global integration for Unity is the first and only Consent Management Platform in the cross-platform game engine’s Verified Solutions Partner Program.

Cookiebot consent management platform is built around a powerful deep scanning technology that automatically detects and controls all cookies and trackers on a website until prior consent from the user releases them. The CMP is a revolutionary, easy-to-install and easy-to-use plug-and-play solution. Website owners just need to add one script to the top of their website to start using Cookiebot CMP.

Both Consent Management Platforms integrate seamlessly with Google Consent Mode. The platforms feature free, standard, business and enterprise plans, depending on the needs of our customers.

We offer a free data privacy audit to all customers so they can find out which cookies and third-party services on their websites process user data. The data privacy audit checks websites to determine the current GDPR, CCPA and LGPD compliance risk level. The risk level is measured using the criteria of first-party cookies, third-party cookies and third-party requests.

Q: What can we expect from your company in the next 6 months? What are your plans?

A: For further product rollout we are focusing on markets in the USA, Brazil and Japan. Our focus continues to be on growth, which is why we are expanding sales with partners like Wix.com. The ambition of our newly formed joint venture with Cookiebot is to become the category-defining leader for consent management solutions. The planned market penetration goal is to achieve nine-figure sales by 2022.

Q: What is the best thing about your company that people might not know about?

A: People from Munich, Copenhagen, Lisbon, London, Prague, Phoenix, Toronto, and more are working on the future development of our solutions. We have colleagues from more than 25 different countries working together every day in all departments.
