Below is our recent interview with Dmitriy Peregudov, the Founder & CEO of GiftBasketsOverseas.com:
Q: Where do you deliver orders?
A: While the majority of orders we get are for delivery in the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK and European Union – we are proud to serve the most difficult, hard-to-reach locations in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and even remote islands.
Q: How do you make gifts happen?
A: We work together with a core team of 60 people who work tirelessly on 6 continents. Together we create amazing customer service while ensuring our regional managers know exactly how to put together each and every gift order we receive. The key to our success is that this is personal to us! We all know what it’s like to have friends, family, and business partners far away so we’re bringing to you gift solutions we at GiftBasketsOverseas.com have tried out personally.
Q: What types of gifts are available to choose from?
A: Back in 2007, we started with Gourmet Gift Baskets, Wine hampers, Chocolates and Flowers. Today our gift baskets include many other product categories including Corporate gifts branded with your company logo, Champagne & Caviar VIP gifts, liquor gifts, Vitamin Gift baskets, and other healthy gifts, Gluten-free and Diabetic friendly options and most recently: Gift Certificates for spa/massage and beauty services.
Many of our customers asked for same-day gifts and we now have a service called GiftyLink that allows people to send any gift in minutes. The recipient receives an electronic envelope with a custom greeting card within moments of the order which is quickly followed by a physical gift a couple of days later. So now, even if you forgot about your loved ones’ birthday – we have a solution for that too!
Of course, we aren’t done growing. When a customer asks for a unique gift, we work to make it happen. If it’s popular enough, we also work to make it a regular feature on our website.
Q: What makes you stand out from your competition?
A: When people are looking to send a gift overseas – they have a few options:
1). Do-it-yourself Gift Shipped Across Borders
You can simply put a gift together send a gift on your own.
This option presents some challenges with clearing customs, limits on the content that can be sent, and potentially a long wait for the gift to arrive.
Lastly, the cost of shipping a 4 lb. (2 kg) gift can be as high as $140 USD, depending on the carrier, weight and delivery location.
Many of our customers started there at first and got burned doing it.
2). Use a Gift Company that Ships Across Borders
The length of time it takes is still significant – up to 6-12 business days.
And the shipping fee, while a bit lower than a self-service option, would still be significant, close to $100 USD.
Did we mention that gift recipients may sometimes be forced to pay customs fees in order to receive the gift from overseas?

Q: How do you manage to deliver to more than 200 countries?
A: Our team has developed an extended network of local suppliers in each country of delivery, that is 200+ countries and tens of thousands of cities.
This means your gift is delivered quickly and a higher percentage of the price you pay is used for a gift itself and not for taxes or duties fees.
Q: What are the company’s plans and goals for the future?
A: Since the start of Gift Baskets Overseas we’ve connected more than 2 million of people Worldwide, while helping them build a personal or business relationships, no matter how far apart they are.
