Q: What are the most important highlights from your financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2021?
A: In light of these uncertain times, we are pleased with VMware’s solid execution and financial performance in Q2, driven by strength in our Subscription and SaaS product offerings.
•Total revenue for Q2 was $2 billion, $875 million dollars, up 9.2 percent year-over-year.
•Non-GAAP EPS was one dollar, 81 cents per share, up 18 percent year-over-year
Q: Can you give us some comments on your subscription and SaaS revenue growth of 44% year-over-year?
A: Our Any Cloud, Any Application, Any Device strategy continues to resonate with customers, and our five franchise platforms, consisting of modern applications, multi-cloud, networking, digital workspace, and security, help form the digital foundation that addresses customers’ hardest technology challenges.
•As organizations everywhere navigate a world transformed by the pandemic, many of our customers accelerated their cloud plans, while some slowed their on-premises projects.
•The on-premises impact was overcome by continued strength in our Subscription and SaaS offerings globally.
•Over 20% of VMware’s total revenue is now generated from our Subscription and SaaS product offerings, with greater than 40% increase year over year, and we expect our momentum to continue.
•We believe, as the economy recovers, we will see resumption of these on-premises projects.

Q: Can you introduce and explain VMware vSphere BitFusion to our readers?
A: vSphere Bitfusion supports AI- and ML-based workloads by virtualizing hardware accelerators such as GPUs. Multi-vendor hardware accelerators and the ecosystem around them are key components for delivering modern applications. These accelerators can be used regardless of location in the environment.
Q: What will be your company focus for next 6 months?
A: We expect over 100,000 attendees to join us for a completely digital VMworld, September 29 to October 1, including general session keynotes featuring customers and guest speakers, as well as hundreds of sessions and customer case studies.
We are particularly excited about the new innovations we’ll be announcing that span AI and ML, modern apps, new security offerings, and key new partnerships with leading technology and services companies.
