Q: John can you tell us something more about your courses?
A: Our student courses provide ultra high-quality video instruction and lots of practice materials. For teachers, we provide resources for their classrooms as well as mentoring and career development. Q: What is the AP® program anyway? How is it different from normal exams?
A: The AP® program (or “Advanced Placement” program) was designed by the College Board to provide university-level instruction to high school students. If students perform well on the real AP® exam, they may be eligible for college credits, saving them time and money. In fact, I had enough credits from AP® exams to graduate a full year early from college, which saved me and my family a lot of money. Exams are offered once a year in May, and this year nearly 3 million students took AP® exams. The exams are different from normal exams because they are often more than 3 hours long and contain challenging free-response questions that require students to show mastery of the subject.

Q: What types of courses do you offer to your clients?
A: We offer a complete study system for students that includes video-based lessons, printable study guides, drills, full-length practice tests, and a study planner. Our courses are self-guided and accessible 24/7 on any device. It’s like an AP® test prep book, but better, and perfect for today’s students, who consume most of their content online.
For teachers, we offer a monthly subscription service, launching October 2019, that provides lesson plans and live online mentoring sessions with expert instructors. Additional resources such as practice tests, pacing charts, and study guides are also available. Whenever a teacher purchases our program, they also receive discounted course access for their students. We know firsthand that teaching AP® is extremely challenging. We want to come alongside teachers to help them navigate The College Board’s requirements and course descriptions to make their day-to-day easier in the classroom.

Q: What are your plans moving forward? I read something about new subjects coming soon.
A: By the end of 2019, we will have teacher and student programs for U.S. History, English Language, English Literature, European History, and Government and Politics with the goal of adding even more subjects before the end of the 2019-20 school year. All of our programs will be aligned with the 2019-20 Course and Exam Descriptions from the College Board and taught by our team of expert teachers and tutors, including my colleagues Alayna Vernon and Tom Richey.
