Below is our recent interview with Jonathan Klein Strandberg, CEO & Co-Founder of Brocc AB:

Q: Jonathan, when was Brocc launched? Can you tell us something more about the company?

A: Brocc was launched in 2016 and is a Swedish digital marketplace for loans and financial services. It’s a simple, safe and smart solution that creates better and fairer terms for everyone involved. Brocc is a registered Payment Institution authorized by Sweden’s financial supervisory authority to broker credits and perform payments.

Q: What are the benefits of investing with your company?

A: If you had enough of low returns and high risks, you can make investments with Brocc as a private individual or through your company or organization. By doing so, you can get a much better interest rate than offered by your bank with low risk. Investing in Swedish personal loans through Brocc offers a high risk-adjusted return with stable cash flows. Swedish personal loans are the most secure loans in Europe and Swedish banks have very high profitability on these loans.

Q: Why is now the time for a technology solution like Brocc?

A: Consumers pay too high interest rates, and investors have a hard time finding good investment opportunities so something had to change.

The way to manage personal finances must be modernized and traditional banks capture a too large part of the value created. Brocc reduces the cumulative fees by 75% for the same service that banks offer. The proprietary technology behind the platform enables Brocc to operate as a bank but with higher efficiency and lower costs. In comparison to the existing IT platforms used by traditional banks, Brocc has a fully modular platform that allows for a more agile approach.

Q: What types of loans do you offer to your clients?

A: We offer personal loans that is one of the most common types of loans in Sweden with about 1,500,000 borrowers. The loans are used for various investments in ordinary people’s lives, such as down payments, renovations, buying a car or perhaps a boat. It is also common for borrowers to turn to Brocc to reassign loans with higher interest rates. Due to the higher degree of efficiency Brocc can offer better conditions than the banks.

Q: What’s next for Brocc? Do you have plans to grow, expand or diversify?

A: Due to the favorable market conditions Brocc has been fully focused on Sweden but we will expand to other markets and new products. Brocc recently started to offer insurance products. Different loan products, such as a digital credit card and point of sale financing, will also be launched together with new insurance products.
